Jane's
Flowers in the House is always a great opportunity to find the pruning shears, take stock of what's blooming in the garden, and bring the seasonal best indoors to enjoy.
This is obviously a little tricky at the end of December, even here in relatively temperate San Francisco. The only thing flowering in the backyard right now are the abutilons,
but to cut them back would only deprive the migrating finches and neighborhood hummingbirds of crucial winter nourishment.
As it turns out, the holiday break was a great time to clean up and organize plants under the fluorescent grow lights, and in the process I rediscovered this little cutie - a bright purple miniature african violet, tag lost, name unknown.
So here is my petite floral offering to Jane and the other loyal contributors to FITH - a day or so late, but enthusiastically shared!
Looking forward to another year of celebrating the flowers that cross your thresholds....
What a charmer. I'm so glad you know it's never too late to come to the party.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year.

ReplyDeleteYou actually have something blooming outdoors...lucky lady. Can't EVER go wrong with an African Violet. They were my mother's favorite houseplant, althought they gave her hell. Like plant, like teenage daughter :)
