Center of our kitchen, workhorse for over 30 years - let me show you our vintage Wedgewood stove.
And the best part is that this beauty was salvaged from a co-worker's kitchen remodel in the 1970's - incredibly, it was being discarded for an electric stove, which back in the day, was considered an upgrade.
Life would not be the same without our beloved Wedgewood!
wow....it's fabulous. tell me about the rabbits on the back. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn:
ReplyDeleteSo happy you asked!
Way before the internet, I spent lots of time at flea markets and garage sales - that's where I found these aluminum bunny cake pans. I attached magnets to the inside of the pans so they could be displayed on the back of the Wedgewood (which is actually a hinged metal shelf that is original to the stove and in its "down position").
I mentioned the internet because these sweet little bunnies (that I once considered a great "vintage find"), can now be found listed for sale on eBay quite frequently.
Wowwww...i never seen this before......love Ria...xxx..
ReplyDeleteLove your Wedgewood! I too found a vintage stove...not as good a shape as your's, but mine's going outside. So glad you joined us for the Cottage Colors Party.
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful stoves...we had one when we lived in NJ and I loved it !
ReplyDeleteI love your stove! Must only be available in the USA as I have never heard of it before.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and reading about Richard Burton - what a facinating guy! I have decided to keep the etching as a reminder to sieze the day - he certainly did!

Gorgeous, gorgeous stove. I remember my mom had one many years ago, they never go out of style. Like those bunnies, great addition.
